Bohemian immigrant Vencil Sleder opened this tavern in 1882 in the Slabtown neighborhood, in a building made from rejected sawmill slabs. It’s billed as the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Michigan. The rustic interior, the mounted moose (kissing it is a tradition) and an affordable menu of burgers and tavern food keep locals coming back.
