The building was Bob’s Bar when Dana Swanson started working there in 1988. She bought it in 2005 and it became Swany’s, which today runs more like a family restaurant than a bar. It’s known for burgers (the smaller burgers come out crispy-edged and juicy) and Sunday roast chicken dinners. The Lansing State Journal reported that Swanson is retiring and handing the business to a longtime employee.
